The Rolls-Royce nameplate has represented some of the most exquisite luxury automobiles since the 1900s. The Silver Wraith lineage started life in 1946, but the Silver Wraith II featured here is based on the Silver Shadow II. The Silver Shadow and Silver Shadow II coincidently are the most produced Rolls Royce examples by volume. However, the Silver Wraith II is a more luxurious and exclusive version — not that any Rolls Royce can be considered "mass market." One of 2135 produced, this well-kept 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II is up for grabs with just 58,000 miles on the clock.
This magnificent example of decadence and luxury in the form of the 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II is finished in a deep, rich shade of red called Claret. The front sports quad headlights and a chrome grille with the ever-recognizable Spirit of Ecstasy emblem leading the way. It sits on a set of vintage Rolls-Royce wheels with thin white-walled tires. As you'd expect for a car categorized in the highest levels of luxury, this Silver Wraith II's interior is nothing short of plush. The interior is finished in beige leather upholstery along with classic wood trim. The 3-spoke wood and aluminum vintage steering wheel are also decorated with the RR logo, behind which lurk the transmission lever and further back the gauge clusters in black inlaid in wood. The original A/C controls are in place, and it is reported that the system is fully functional. The center console is host to a Kenwood radio/cassette player along with a Kenwood equalizer located below the stereo. Also included inside is an onboard car phone, a novel feature for a vehicle in the late 70s.
The 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II is powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.7L V8, with a cast aluminum block and head. This is good enough for 220hp of reported power. It is mated to a 3-speed THM 400 automatic transmission, but the seller notes that the gearbox shows signs of leakage. This car's spark plug leads have been replaced, while new spark plugs were also recently installed. The Wraith features all-around disc brakes, along with a hydropneumatic suspension system which was licensed from Citroen and is credited for the Wraith II's incredible ride quality.

Today’s EVs and high-performance vehicles are all lovely to drive daily, but what about slowing down every now and then? Having received some new parts, this car could be yours to cherish for years to come. The current seller says that the tool kit is included as well, which is an excellent thing if you’re a purist for the little details. Let’s take a deeper dive into what this old-school British luxury car offers.
Rolls-Royce is well known to be the most luxurious automaker in the world. With a rich history spanning over a decade, the Silver Spirit is one of their best-known icons of the Eighties and Nineties. This was the first Rolls-Royce to feature a retractable Spirit of Ecstasy hood mascot. The spring-loaded mascot would swiftly disappear into the grille if tampered with. Hence, Rolls-Royce owners could now rest easy in the knowledge that souvenir hunters and jealous punters couldn’t get their hands on one of the car’s most desirable aspects. That’s just one of many reasons of why you should consider taking on ownership of this 1982 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit. The car comes with a reportedly original mileage of just 62,100, and has received some new parts to keep it humming along smoothly.
The onslaught of the SUV is so relentless that even Rolls-Royce had to bow down and make an SUV. Enter the Cullinan, and if you know anything about Rolls-Royce, it’s that they strive to be the best in automotive luxury. Hence, when they released the Cullinan in 2018, they didn’t compromise one bit. In fact, it’s the most luxurious and well-appointed full-size SUV that you can buy today. So, if that sounds like a vehicle that you’d drive daily, we’ve got a 2019 Rolls-Royce Cullinan for sale right now. With just 2,097 miles on the odometer, it’s barely out of the running-in period!
