The 1969-1970 Grand Prix design included a tall hood, short deck lid, and semi-fast back roofline, resulting in a sporty and modern appearance. It also had a protruding front chrome grille, four headlights, and a rear design that added to its overall look. Our subject Grand Prix Model J wears a beautiful blue shade that is complemented by chrome trim around the car including the bumpers. It is topped with a black roof that smoothly slides towards the rear of the vehicle. The car rides on 17” retro wheels wrapped in Nitto Motivo tires. We were told that the classic black interior of this car is all-original. However, it is also reported that all wiring is new, and an aftermarket stereo system is available. This cabin shows its luxury side with wood veneer that also displays the Grand Prix moniker.
The 1969 to 1970 Grand Prix Model J was standard with the GTO's 350 gross horsepower 400 cu in (6.6 L) Pontiac V8 engine. This example has had its engine rebuilt and is fitted with new components such as an alternator, starter motor, and battery. The Pontiac Grand Prix is a series of cars produced for over eight generations, spanning 40 years from 1962 through 2008. Until 1987 and up to the end of its fifth generation, the Grand Prix was strictly a 2-door full-size rear-wheel-drive coupe (except for the 1967-only convertible model). However, in its last three generations, the Grand Prix was offered as a front-wheel-drive car in both coupe and sedan body styles. Pontiac made the Catalina with many body styles, including a sedan, station wagon, convertible and coupe. This 1963 Pontiac Catalina Sport Coupe is probably the sportiest offering of the line-up, and it looks fantastic, having just 38,300 miles on the clock. The current owner reports that the car was recently appraised in June 2024 as well.
The second-generation Chevrolet Corvette (C2) is where the legendary Corvette inherited its sharp lines and looks that are still used to this day. This new design over the first-generation Corvette did not only present itself with a spectacular view but also newfound handling prowess. The new lighter body meant this convertible found more acceleration than its predecessor, even though the power remained the same and the new suspension significantly improved handling.
