When it comes to combining the words of luxury and cars together, there is no other company that can come close to Rolls Royce. Founded by Charles Roll and Henry Royce, the company incorporated in 1906 was known not only for motor car engine manufacturing but for a strong foothold in the aviation industry as well. The company was officially changed towards Rolls-Royce Holdings in the 1970’s since the company was operating in several industries across the globe and this allowed better operational control over different departments of the company. Currently, the mission statement of the company plans to provide power and propulsion solutions in the air, land and the sea. The department manufacturing motor cars however, is much more renowned due to its dedication towards luxury cars and therefore, has developed a cult following as well. Starting at a base production of cars, offering around 10 HP, the Rolls-Royce Limited has come a long way from engine production to a car company providing luxury cars that can rack up to 624 HP. Rolls-Royce Wraith Eagle VIII is a tribute to the company’s machinery that has been operating for over 100 years. The ‘Eagle VIII’ in the production unit represents the engine in the first transatlantic flight that allowed Alcock and Brown to cross the Atlantic in a single flight for the very first time. The first generation Wraiths were introduced back in 2013, to replace the less popular Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe, using the basis of a Rolls-Royce Ghost. These models were presented to display that luxury cars had the power to be fast and sporty while simultaneously representing the British Luxury. The Roll-Royce Wraith Eagle VIII was the final limited-edition model of the first generation of Wraith, and helped put an end to some of the finest machinery produced by the company.
Powered by a 6.6L V12 engine, the car is able to generate a torque of over 590 lb.-ft allowing a much smoother power delivery however, more importantly contributing towards rapid acceleration previously not expected by luxury cars. With the acceleration topping 0-60 mph in just about 4.4 seconds, the Wraith Eagle VIII was considered one of the fastest luxury cars when it was released in 2019. The twin charged turbo engine when combined with high torque delivery meant that the car could run at a high-speed for an elongated period. The car hosted an 8-speed automatic transmission which allowed a rather fuel-efficient performance specifically when hosting a V12 engine. Despite being recorded a weight of 5300 pounds, the car could comfortably sit at 155 mph and had an incredible road grip for better balance as well.
Since the car was a limited-edition homage to the first transatlantic flight, the interior of the car mimicked the night-sky using the two-tone light and dark gray theme featuring brass color for detailing. The leather of the console and the seats also matched the theme, as they are denoted by gray and black leather with brass accents all around. The clock and the speakers inside the car, pay homage to the flight distance of 1880 miles. The company was able to perfect the celestial arrangement as well, depicting the exact stars and galaxy as witnessed on that day, in the roof of the Eagle VIII. Similarly, the Eucalyptus Wood dash fascia reminiscent in gold, silver and gray, reminds us of how detailed and intricate the little things can be in a luxurious car.
Starting from the tires and moving forward till the headlights, the car is accented in a two-tone Gunmetal and Selby Grey colors with the same brace accent visible clearly. The dark-finished wheels are in a perfect gradient, excellently managing the dark exterior of this limited-edition machine. In the front, the car matches that iconic silver spirit of ecstasy with the similarly accented front grill, which are elevated against this dark-colored Rolls Royce. These custom wheels were specifically designed for this model of Rolls-Royce to match the dark theme representing the night sky by the company.
The magnificent wraith which exemplified the V12 coupé collection of Rolls Royce’s ambition to enter the sports car market, were discontinued after the final piece of the puzzle, the Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Arrow. This would be the last V12 coupé of the company as the company has vowed to go all-electric after this final piece. In an attempt to serve the environment better, the company has shifted its production from fossil fueled engines to an electric motor that can replicate similar levels of comfort and luxury. Rolls-Royce Thunderbolt, which was unveiled back in 1938 was able to cross 357 mph, and became the inspiration for black arrow. Powered by a twin-turbocharged engine, the car is able to generate over 632 HP with a similar eight-speed automatic transmission. A fancy yellow tint on a black gradient color provides the ultimate luxury and aesthetics for a car enthusiast. This elaborative cross of phantom and ghost has been quite an interesting experiment which will be discontinued soon. However, the luxury offered by the Phantom series remains unparalleled. Powered by similar engines and a robust exterior, the phantom was instead more commonly renowned for the customization the company allowed on its sale. Customers were allowed to change all the little details from the emblem to the colors and the seating. This Lazuli blue colored 2016 Phantom is an example of this feature. The powdered blue and gray colored themes offered by this car accent the mahogany applied in this car very neatly. Offering a similar 6.75L V12 engine, the car can produce over 600 HP, maintaining a stable top speed as well due to advanced torque. Where Wraith was focused more towards sporty looks, phantom has always been about customer car, luxury and attachment. The customizations in the car make the vehicle much more personal and relatable. Other than the Phantom, Exotic Car Trader offers several other variants of Ghost, Phantom and Wraith with credible specifications for new buyers who have trouble verifying their car of choice.
It is very rare to see luxury complimented by performance, specifically when it comes to cars. In order to cater for luxury, the aerodynamics of a car are often neglected, which means they may be considered comfortable but are highly unlikely to be good at acceleration or maintaining a high speed. However, the Rolls-Royce Wraith Eagle VIII which was a special edition, falls into the category of class that can provide high-performance while simultaneously being luxury cars that can support comfort. Since this car was mirrored over the famous Rolls-Royce Ghost, the company already had an excellent twin turbo V12 engine that could generate a ton of torque, while weighing over 5,000 pounds. The car however, was substantially smaller than the ghost which obviously is a line that focuses more on comfort to deliver the best possible luxury sedan. Therefore, the car was loaded with horsepower and had to power a relatively smaller frame, making the Eagle VIII one of the fastest luxury cars. Due to the fact that this was considered a special edition, the company only manufactured around 50 cars which meant the prices were substantially high. However, people were still very intrigued by the concept of sporty luxurious cars which is why these cars were sold out very early. Today, while the cars are still available on the market, there is no way of verifying the authenticity and matching the performance to the original capacity. This is where the Exotic Car Trader comes in to verify the luxury cars being sold in the market. The listing mentioned on the company’s website ensures the readers understand whether sellers have been verified to allow better understanding of the credibility that is being offered. Similarly, the buyers have the option to order third-party inspections and specifications to match with the original machine and learn more about the current condition.
