Engine

The S-Class is a big car, and as such needs a suitably brawny engine to power it along in the requisite fashion of being swift but not obnoxious. Together with the EQ Boost mild hybrid system, the engine outputs 496hp and 516lb-ft to all four wheels via a 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission and the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. This allows for a zero to sixty sprint time of around 4.5 seconds, topping out an an electronically-limited 155mph. Multi-link suspension with air suspension is standard on the range, and large ventilated disc brakes bring this luxury living room on wheels to an appropriate stop.
