During the 1960s, Ford's creation of the GT40 was fueled by a desire for payback after a fallout with Enzo Ferrari. Ford had intended to acquire Ferrari, but the deal fell through when Ferrari withdrew, resulting in a dispute over control of the racing team. Determined to outshine Ferrari on the racing field, particularly at Le Mans, Ford made it their mission to build a car that would surpass Ferrari's dominance. Thus, the iconic GT40 was born. Despite initial challenges, Ford enlisted the expertise of Carroll Shelby, leading to four consecutive Le Mans victories from 1966 to 1969 and serving as sweet revenge against Enzo Ferrari. In 2004, Ford paid homage to this legendary 1960s racer by producing a limited run of Ford GTs. Among them, the 2005 Ford GT stands out as a rare find, with only 4,038 units ever produced. What makes this particular car even more remarkable is its low mileage of just 2,800 miles on the odometer. The sale of this car includes two keys, the owner's manual, and accompanying books, adding to its appeal and value as a collector's item. Owning this 2005 Ford GT allows you to connect with the rich history and legacy of the GT40, a symbol of Ford's triumph over adversity and their relentless pursuit of automotive excellence.
When you see the iconic Shelby branding and cobra motif on a Mustang, you know that the outfit formed by the legendary Carroll Shelby has been working their magic. For decades, Shelby Mustangs have ruled the tracks and drag strips, showing what a Mustang can be turned into when given suitable performance modifications. Shelby works with Ford and hence you can consider these to be factory-endorsed machines. In fact, the fifth generation, from which this 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible hails, was sold by Ford. This car has got only 9,000 miles on it, making it a superb buy for a Mustang aficionado. It’s also a fantastic future investment and a definitive classic in years to come.
Ford’s popular F-Series that is available today and in the fourteenth generation, was born in 1948. It was aimed at mobilizing American small businessholders, farmers and those engaged in trade. For the first generation, the range started with the F-1 which was a half-ton pickup truck. It had a 6.5-foot cargo bed, and sat at just 189 inches long; shorter than many full-size luxury cars of today. Over time, the F-1 has become a cherished classic and a symbol of American freedom – because it allowed you to take your family to market, with your goods for sale in the truck bed. This particular 1950 Ford F-1 Custom Build is a little different, as it’s a restomod with a host of upgrades. Residing in California and having just 13,367 miles since its rebuild, this truck is ideal for someone who wants classic style tastefully combined with modern features and performance.
The Ford F-Series came in 1948, and has continued uninterrupted to this day. Fourteen generations have been made, and it’s one of the longest-running nameplates in American automotive history. This 1956 Ford F-100 comes from the second generation of the series and has been subjected to a full frame-off restoration effort. With a V8 and plenty of attention paid to bring it to near-factory condition, this is a great classic truck for the discerning collector, as well as first-time collector alike. Since it’s seen just 328 miles of driving post-restoration, you’ll basically be its first owner, in a way!
SUVs are inevitable, and even Italy’s finest couldn’t escape them. Lamborghini joined the party in 2018 with the Urus. Interestingly, this wasn’t Lambo’s first SUV, their first being the LM002 from the Eighties, but that’s a story for another day. Getting back to the Urus, it’s named after a breed of cattle, just like most Lamborghini models of past and present tend to be. Since Lamborghini is owned by Volkswagen Group, they leveraged the same platform as the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus, with the result that the Urus is not only fast, but luxurious and comfortable. If you want to upgrade to the Urus experience, here’s a 12,500-mile 2021 Lamborghini Urus for sale in Granite Bay, California. Be warned though, it’s deliciously addictive and will show you that you can have a supercar experience in a family-friendly package – so you’ll be hooked!
McLaren Automotive is one of the most prolific supercar and sports car makers from the United Kingdom. They are perhaps best-known for their iconic McLaren F1 supercar of the ʼ90s. In 2019, McLaren Automotive previewed the GT, which they made for just five years before upgrading it and mildly adjusting the name to GTS. The GT is a rear-mid engined grand tourer that, like all the brand’s cars, offers astonishing performance that can thrill a keen driver. Today’s 2022 McLaren GT comes to you from Charlotte, North Carolina, and has driven a mere 2,070 miles since it left the McLaren factory. Do you want a supercar in your life? This is it!
In 1992, Ferrari debuted the 456. This model was a bit different, as it carried its engine up front. This is because the 456 is a 2+2-style grand tourer. Rather than spearing around race tracks at the ragged edge of grip and performance, the 456 is rather more geared at crossing multiple countries in Europe with nary a whimper, keeping its occupants as comfortable as possible. Of course, that also makes it a great car for traveling fantastic distances in our great country. If that sounds like your sort of thing – exploring America in an Italian grand tourer with a soulful V12 engine, say hello to this reported-9,613-mile 1997 Ferrari 456 GTA that’s for sale right now. The current owner reports that it’s recently been fully serviced by Ferrari, including a recent oil change.
