The eleventh generation of Ford’s Thunderbird was a retro-modern homage to the one that started the whole Personal Luxury Car craze in the United States. Made between 2002 and 2005, less than 70,000 were sold. That’s why finding one isn’t as easy as you might think. So, if you’ve been a Thunderbird fan, check out this 2004 Ford Thunderbird Convertible that’s up for grabs. The car comes with 30,500 miles on the clock, and since it’s a 2004 model, it’s got the more powerful engine that came from 2003 onwards.
Dressed in a Merlot coat, this 2004 Ford Thunderbird Convertible is certainly a car of class and panache. The car wears its matching Merlot hardtop with opera windows on the sides and also has a power-retractable soft top replete with glass windows. That makes it an excellent all-season convertible since you’ve got the relative security and weatherproofing of a proper hardtop when required. The car truly is a sight to behold, rolling on its 17-inch alloy wheels and dripping with retro-modern styling cues that hark back to the very first Thunderbirds of the 1950s. The two-seat interior of this 2004 Ford Thunderbird Convertible is once again, a hat tip to the very first one, which was a two-seater. Subsequent years would see Ford fit a rear seat to its T-Bird to increase family appeal, but the eleventh generation went back to the Personal part of Personal Luxury Car. Interior highlights include an Alpine audio player with a 6-disc CD changer, dual-zone automatic climate control with air conditioning, and tan leather seats with partial electrical adjustment.
This 2004 Ford Thunderbird Convertible features a Jaguar-derived 3.9L V8 with sequential multi-port fuel injection that was factory rated for 280hp and 286lb-ft. It powers the rear wheels through a Ford Bordeaux 5-speed automatic gearbox. The driver may change gears manually via the gear shifter too. Meanwhile, the car has front and rear independent suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking, and power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering. We’re told that the car has received a recent oil change.

When it was introduced, the Pontiac Solstice was a nominee for the North American Car of the Year award. It was one of the last models built by the company before it was mothballed, which is a shame because, during its five years of production, this small, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive convertible sports car managed to find its way into the hearts of many. Our featured 2006 Pontiac Solstice Roadster is reported to be of exceptionally low mileage, with just 37,000 miles on the clock — that’s an average running of just over 2,000 miles per annum. This example features the naturally aspirated 2.4-liter Ecotec engine from General Motors, and puts power to the road via a five-speed manual transmission.
