The colossal Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota Motor Corporation was founded in 1937. It originally was a spinoff of Toyota Industries. Their first-ever vehicle was the Toyota AA in 1936. As of date, Toyota accounts for more than 10 million vehicle production annually and is considered one of the largest conglomerates in the world. Part of this success was thanks to the Toyota Land Cruiser, which was initially introduced as the Toyota BJ in 1951 as a military light utility vehicle. Here's a chance to lay hands on a pristine and reportedly untouched 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 and a total mileage of 145,000 on the odometer.
This 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 bears a funky Mustard yellow exterior patina. The front fascia features a no-nonsense design with a pair of headlights flanking a black grille with the Toyota Diesel badges. The whole amalgamation is in a white surround. The turn lights are located on the front fenders. The front bumper is a piece of a polished straight bar with decals and rubber stoppers on the corners. Hella fog lights are bolted onto the front bumper. A quick look at the sides reveals this is a 2-door model and features white exterior mirrors and chrome Toyota Land Cruiser badges on the front fender sides. The rear features access doors to the rear with the spare bolted onto the left side door. It sits on a set of vintage grey-painted off-road steelies and red center hubs. It is topped by a tannish soft top. The interior is host to vinyl front driver's seats along with a bench, while the rear is host to a pair of bench seats on the sides facing each other. The seller reports that the BJ40 has never been painted or restored in any way and that this is a Japanese Model. The only exception to the restoration is a modern JVC head unit.
Toyota is known for building engines that are nigh indestructible and this 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 is powered by the same meticulously built 3.0L inline-4 engine spewing out 84hp of power along with 145 lb.ft of torque. It comes with newly installed tires for better traction.
