Is there a more iconic American vehicle than the original AM General Hummer? Conceived as a replacement for the aging Willys Jeep that first saw service in World War II, the original AM General Humvee was a purpose-built machine never before seen by the world. And thanks to extensive coverage in the media, whether it be live shots from war zones, or cars that ended up in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s garage, the legend of the Humvee has been well and truly cemented for generations to come. Our featured 1990 AM General Humvee Ruckus has been extensively upgraded by Plan B Supply to become a compelling option for anyone in the market for these incredible American war machines. With multiple choice additions, this remanufactured Humvee undoubtedly stands out from the crowd.
Finished in grey, this recommissioned 1990 AM General Humvee retains the purposeful and boxy body styling that has made it a hit in the hearts of many. The modifications have been carried out by Plan B Supply, a renowned company that procures military-used Humvees and recommissions them for civilian use. This particular Humvee features the company’s “Slant Back kit,” which, as the name suggests, adds a slanted rear section, along with an additional glass package. Also included are upgraded 18-inch Black Rhino wheels and 38-inch Yokohama Geolander tires. There’s also an additional spare tire with the signature mounting kit supplied by PBS. Also installed is a 360-degree LED lighting system and front and rear signature steel bumpers with integrated winches. The winches in question are rated at 12,000 lbs each. Inside the Humvee, you’ll find Plan B Supply’s F-16-inspired dash. There’s also upgraded “Level II” sound deadening includes additional insulation applied to the doors, headliner, and double-layer tunnel. Finally, there’s air conditioning, a 9-inch Pioneer touch screen for modern convenience, and cameras on all four sides.
Under the hood of the 1990 Am General Plan B Supply Ruckus is a 6.5-liter diesel coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission. The Ruckus conversion also includes 12k axles, heavy-duty hubs, springs, arms, and suspension brackets, as well as a Snorkel kit.
Every now and then, you get a chance to purchase and experience a vehicle that has served our glorious military forces, at home or abroad. Typically this will be a Humvee, because these are the most commonly used military vehicles, as well as the easiest to civilianize. So, say hello to this 2000 AM General Humvee M1123 that’s for sale right now with just 11,914 miles to its name. The vehicle is a cargo/troop carrier derivative, and it’s received plenty of attention to make it what it is today. This includes a new engine and transmission reportedly replaced in July 2024, as well as a new transfer case, and front, and rear differentials around the same time. Moreover, it’s been decked out with an airy, nautical theme, making it a great outdoorsy cruiser that’s designed for fun.
You probably wouldn't think of buying a Humvee for your daily runs or as a grocery-getter. You look for a Humvee when you have a tough job at hand, whether it is military needs, off-roading, or as a cargo carrier. During wars that broke out since the model's deployment in the ‘80s, the Humvee has largely supplanted the roles previously performed by the original Jeep. For use in specific roles throughout the war, it was created in a variety of sizes and different features. What we have here is a 1985 American General Humvee with an enclosed cargo area, which is fitted with a table rack on each side. According to the current owner of this Humvee, it only has less than 357 original miles on its clock, and it is currently located in Plant City, Florida.
Here’s the one that started it all, the vehicle that introduced the Hummer brand to Americans. AM General was producing the military Humvee for years, and it caught the attention of none other than The Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Interested in what a civilian variant would be like, Schwarzenegger managed to convince AM General to create one. We don’t think it took much convincing; when The Terminator asks you to do something, you don’t raise too many objections. This 1994 AM General Humvee M998A1 is up for sale in Yukon, Oklahoma, and awaits a new owner. If you’d like to pick it up, give us a call.
