Fun fact; the CJ in Jeep CJ stands for Civilian Jeep! By 1944, Willys-Overland had started planning a civilian variant of the popular military Jeep that had revolutionized battlefields all across the theaters of World War II. They knew that the War was coming to an end, and so would their bread-and-butter product. So, by 1945, the CJ-2A was introduced and sold over 214,000 units in just four years. CJ-1 and CJ-2 were prototypes and thus not available to the public. The series continued for decades, with the CJ-7 coming in 1976. This particular 1978 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade is thus one of over 379,000 units built over a 11-year production run.
