Ford’s Thunderbird is responsible for creating the Personal Luxury Car segment in the United States, a segment that the famous, wealthy and powerful flocked to like moths to a flame in the fifties through eighties. Introduced in 1955, the first-gen Thunderbird would run for a mere three model years before the second generation came about.
