The Ford Thunderbird was America's take on Europe's famous Grand Tourers. Debuting for the 1955 model year, Ford billed the T-bird as a Personal Luxury Car. This meant a two-seater with a large engine, effortless cruising capabilities, ample cargo space, and a luxurious passenger cabin. As time passed by, the Thunderbird did indeed gain a rear seat to appeal to a wider audience. Ten generations were made, and an eleventh made an appearance between 2002 and 2005 as a homage to the original. This particular 1966 Ford Thunderbird is a lovely fourth-generation example that's up for sale with a mere 82,669 miles on the clock. Furthermore, it's reported to still contain the original engine and has received some refreshment work as well.
This 1966 Ford Thunderbird comes to you in burgundy, with a black vinyl-wrapped hardtop, as was in vogue during the Sixties and Seventies. Long, low, and sporting quad headlamps, this was American luxury motoring at its finest. The car is said to come with four new tires on its wheels, as well as new original-style hubcaps to keep it looking sharp. It also has a new door and trunk locks to keep the car safe from opportunistic thieves. After all, it's quite a desirable classic car. The interior of this 1966 Ford Thunderbird is also burgundy and provides four comfortably-padded, leather-upholstered seats. The car has a new ignition switch, a new vacuum system for the power door locks, and a new compressor plus a toggle switch for its air conditioning system.
