Founded by Bodo Buschmann, Brabus has grown to be more than just a tuning company. They've become the go-to name for buyers seeking the ultimate in customized high-performance Mercedes cars. Sure, they also tune cars from other manufacturers, but that's not the focus for today. The Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition was unveiled to celebrate the company's founder, and it embodies all that Brabus is as a brand and a recognized independent automaker. From its exterior and interior styling to its performance capabilities, every detail of the car reflects an uncompromising commitment to power, style, and luxury. The only downside is that only 25 will be made, all of which are sold out. But should one pop up for sale, we'll tell you how much you're looking at shelling out. First, how fast is the Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition?
Brabus leaves no parameter untouched, and for the Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition's engine, they installed their PowerXtra B40S-750 performance upgrade and 52-millimeter turbos, resulting in 750 horsepower and 664 lb.ft. That's enough for a 0-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds, and flat out, the top speed maxes out at 196 mph, similar to the Mercedes-AMG SL 63. Despite all the upgrades, including a stainless steel exhaust, the Brabus retains a weight identical to the SL 63, roughly 4,300 pounds, thanks to extensive carbon fiber detailing. But Brabus didn't stop there. The car's suspension was also revised, featuring Brabus tailormade sports springs that can be adjusted, altering the ride height. Plus, despite being absolutely stunning, the wheels also serve a dynamic purpose.
The Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition's cabin adopts the exterior's all-black design that remains central to Brabus' design philosophy. Even if you're not a fan of black interiors, you'll find the car's overall interior design aesthetically pleasing, from the dashboard to the steering doors and seats. Like the exterior, hints of high gloss exposed carbon fiber are everywhere, adding modern luxury to the dark theme. Black stitching and piping accentuate the "R-Sport" quilting pattern, a favorite of Bodo Buschmann's. To honor the company's heritage, "77" signets are embossed on various surfaces, including the seat side bolsters, center console, and sun visors, commemorating the year 1977 when Brabus was founded.
Visually, the Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition has styling that perfectly embodies Bodo Buschmann's philosophy of elegance and functionality. Signature Brabus carbon fiber elements dominate the front end, including a custom radiator grille, exclusive front fascia inserts, and an aerodynamic front spoiler. This spoiler not only adds to the car's aggressive look but also significantly reduces front-end lift at high speeds, improving overall stability and performance. Carbon fiber extends to the fender attachments on the side with the Brabus logo. But that's not what will catch your eye. The Sleek, retro-inspired three-spoke Monoblock wheels add a bespoke touch as you'll not find them on any other Brabus. At the rear, the car sports a carbon fiber rear spoiler and diffuser that perfectly frames the quad exhaust tips finished in gloss or matte black.
On the technology front, the Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition retained the Mercedes-AMG SL 63's tech suite. This means that inside, you get an 11.9-inch infotainment display running on Mercedes' MBUX system, which was new for 2023. It's complemented by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster running on the same system, which incorporates Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, vehicle controls, a "Hey Mercedes" virtual assistant, and more. The driver assists and safety suite also remained unchanged with features such as automated emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, launch control, and electronic stability control in addition to the essentials.
Each of the 25 Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Editions made had an MSRP of around $370,000. We might not have one among our Mercedes listings, but given its rarity and exclusive appeal its value will likely appreciate. So, expect to pay slightly higher than the MSRP if you're looking to buy one, and if you wait longer, you'll likely pay more.
The Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition isn't just a modified Mercedes; it's a Brabus masterpiece. A limited-edition tribute to the company's founder, it showcases the pinnacle of Brabus's expertise in high-performance, luxury customization.
