This is made possible by an M-tuned all-wheel-drive system, transmission, and suspension that, at first instance, will have you almost regretting the decision to buy due to ride stiffness, even in its softest setting.
The only drawback of the 2017 BMW X5 M's cabin is the 10.2-inch infotainment display, which lacks the visual appeal of a modern display. Only when closely observed are the sporty details apparent: a more muscular front and rear, pronounced wheel arches, larger M-specific wheels, and a lower stance. Enhancing the V8's presence, dual exhausts are positioned on either side of the rear bumper, a step up from the twin-exhaust setup found on lower-spec models. The front end doesn't differ much from other trims, but the vents are larger to enhance cooling, and the grille is finished in black to match other exterior elements like the window surrounds.
The 10.2-inch infotainment display we mentioned earlier might not include Apple CarPlay (unless paid for) or Android Auto, but it offers access to the car's important functions and features. For example, you can use it to adjust the car's driving modes or select any of them depending on how you feel like driving or what the road requires. These modes include Comfort, Sport, and Sport Plus, and each adjusts the throttle response, suspension dampers, transmission, and steering feel. Inside, you get a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, two USB ports up front, and two 12-volt outlets in the rear. What more do you need? The safety and driver assist features are as expected for a high-performance SUV, including launch control, traction control, and electronics stability control, just to mention a few, in addition to the essentials.
